We made a pact when we decided to have kids that we do one vacation a year just us since new experiences is how we recharge. Waking up today I feel like a better partner and mom.

For those of you that can’t take the time away, find those things that recharge you and make them a priority. Only if you are taking care of yourself can you truly take care of others without it being a burden.

I read a post the other day about whether emptying the dishwasher is a break for moms. I think it’s up to whether you are in a good place. Chores have been more of a burden lately, but coming home I’m excited to be back in my life.

Let’s clean this hall closet that’s been driving me crazy and find some room for the dog food!

Vacuum battery broke, I had to pause videoing at the end because my toddler did wake up before I was done, but it feels so much better now! (We won’t talk about the jackets I found in there 😅)

I didn’t need to go buy a bunch of organization tools to make the room. Just start with cleaning up and cleaning out! Lots of stuff in there I didn’t need.

This is the stage of life I’m in and I’m going to own it.

My patio time is no longer margaritas and salsa at a restaurant happy hour, instead popsicles and grilling in my backyard.

My evenings are no longer dates and froyo, instead bedtime routines and my nightly cookies.

And I’m happy with that. I’m realizing more everyday how the home you build is your world and everything outside of it comes second.

Do what works for you and don’t let anyone guilt you into anything different. If you want to go out, do it! If you want to stay in, do it! Live the life you want, not the life others tell you to.

Watch until the end for our favorite FREE toy for restaurants and play dates with mom friends! You can make it at home with things in your house.

A MUST have with a toddler is a busy bag of toys! Each of our cars have a few toys and essentials, but this bag is our favorite toys that are guaranteed to keep her entertained. We keep it at the back door ready to go anytime and it keeps the toys fresh since she only plays either them when out.

We don’t do screens very much so these toys have been essential as well as lots of singing 😂.
